The dandan noodles were just okay - stick to Han Dynasty a couple of blocks away. Any recommendations for a restaurant serving Dim Sum from roving push carts in Philadelphia Ocean City and Ocean Harbor come up on several lists. Formerly of Cafe Renata, Kate and Yasser went back to the drawing board and crafted Renatas Kitchen, a restaurant to serve Brunch daily, in 2020 we expanded to the Trolley portal cafe offering Full Service all day, with a full bar. The Shanghainese panfried soup dumplings was a bit of a miss though - the ones I'm accustomed to in Hong Kong dimsum restaurants are moist, but not soupy - these ones attempted to have soup on the inside on par with xiaolongbao, and the bun just ended up absorbing all the soup and getting soggy. Though misnamed - definitely more of a durian fried roll than a pancake) and the beef scallion pancake (also misnamed - more of a beef scallion roll) with marinated spices beef and fresh scallions. ![]() Surprisingly tasty! I was most curious about dimsum I'd never seen before. Jane G's has a szechuan restaurant in downtown Philly which isn't as good as Han Dynasty, so I was curious how their dimsum restaurant would do in University City.
